CLIENT PRESENTATION
The Client is a company specialising in the engineering, construction, commissioning and maintenance of oil and gas facilities (onshore and offshore). As part of the reinforcement of its site maintenance teams, it is looking for a Comm. & Maint. Mechanical Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of his/her role, the selected candidate will in particular have to:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
· Ensure safe maintenance execution of Mechanical Equipment, compliant with HSE rules, legislative regulations and international standards;
· Set and promote Leadership in Safety attitudes;
· Bring leadership and supervision and provide support to team members in terms of technical and individual performance capability;
· Be responsible for supporting the close out of any gaps in the competency standards for all team members;
MAINTENANCE EXECUTION
· Ensure that the services are carried out in strict compliance with Company and Client current HSE rules;
· Plan Preventive and Corrective Maintenance operations (routine and short-term);
· Coordinate all Contractor personnel for the smooth execution of the services;
MAINTENANCE PLANNING
· Anticipate, plan and request the logistical means necessary for smooth maintenance operations, taking into account the various constraints when planning and carrying out operations;
· Take part in site coordination meetings;
· Ensure the preparation of Maintenance reports for submission to Company;
· Ensure the movement of spare parts according to the requirements of Maintenance operations;
· Check and validate all technical reports in CMMS and ensure work history is comprehensively recorded in line with CMMS data quality requirements;
· Carry out appropriate reporting on the progress of maintenance operations and, if necessary, on difficulties encountered;
· Ensure the Contractor Personnel complete and record all handovers (daily, weekly and rotation);
TECHNICAL SUPPORT / METHODS
· Ensure the appropriateness of the operating and maintenance procedures employed by own crews and, if necessary, suggest improvements;
· Ensure coordination between maintenance Operations and Preparation teams;
· Keep an up-to-date list of works that cannot be performed except during inspections of machines or shutdowns;
· Keep files of requests for studies of modifications and improvements;
· Suggest corrective measures if a Maintenance backlog could become unmanageable;
· Maintain a permanent anticipation of the potential problems that could occur in the production plant, in close relationship with other sections, in order to prevent non-productive or non-efficient operations;
TEAM LEADING
· Organize the rotation schedules of own teams;
· Identify the training needs of own teams and make training requests as appropriate;
· Propose all necessary adjustments related to the Nationalization plan;
· Propose appraisal and Competence assessment for own staff;
· Set expectations, coach and mentor technicians with regard to acceptable attitudes and behaviours;
HSE
· Demonstrate commitment to safety through language, behaviour and actions;
· Ensure the correct behaviour of own teams in accordance with the general safety regulations of the subsidiary and, if needed, take the necessary corrective measures;
· Ensure all necessary controls to mitigate risks and/or eliminate hazards;
· Monitor performance via regular observation of working practices, assessing compliance with safe systems of work and work instructions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The candidate sought must meet the following profile:
Required level of education: Bac+2 / Bac+3 (BTS, HND, technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree) in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, electromechanics or equivalent;
Required experience: minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, including at least 2 years in a team supervision position, ideally in the oil and gas sector (onshore and/or offshore);
Proven experience in the maintenance of rotating and static equipment on a production site;
Good command of French and technical English (spoken and written);
Site HSE certifications appreciated: working at height, use and wearing of a safety harness;
Medical fitness for work on an industrial site and availability to work on a rotation schedule.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
The skills and knowledge identified for the successful performance of the position are in particular:
· Rotating equipment maintenance (advanced level expected): management of all types of rotating machinery – compressors, turbines, diesel and gas engines, pumps and motors; knowledge of mechanical seals and seal systems; analysis of condition monitoring reports in order to identify potential equipment failure and improvement opportunities; ability to identify and propose improvements or modifications to the plant in order to enhance its reliability;
· Static equipment maintenance: heat exchangers, vessels, tanks, separators, storage tanks, dehydration columns, valves, PIG launchers and receivers; knowledge of PD 5500 and of the codes and practices for the design, fabrication and inspection of pressure vessels (e.g. shell & tube ASME VIII heat exchangers); ability to define and apply the isolation plan through drafting blind isolation plans on P&ID; implementation of cleaning, testing, inspecting and repairing procedures;
· Predictive maintenance techniques: condition monitoring using vibration monitoring and other non-destructive testing systems such as thermography;
· Turnaround management: preparation, repair/replacement and quality control of process equipment and piping systems for plant rehabilitation and turnaround scope of work, internal equipment dismantling and retrofit techniques, ability to manage a turnaround project while minimising shutdown time;
· Root cause analysis and troubleshooting: ability to perform RCA in case of accident/incident events in support of the investigation team; systematic troubleshooting on complex machines, instruments, electronics and software systems;
· Maintenance management: planning and scheduling best practices to drive work execution, maintenance KPIs and visual management dashboards, work management strategies improving asset availability and utilisation, cost-time-resources estimation and management of an effective maintenance budget;
· Information systems for maintenance management: AMOS, SAP, MAXIMO, UNISUP, Data Stream, Primavera ERP, etc.;
· Spare parts management: Client supply chain workflow (PR / PO / requisition, FAT / SAT) and warehouse management principles;
· Project technical documents: ability to read and interpret isometrics, standards for supports, P&IDs, piping arrangements, plot plans, alignment sheets and project installation procedures; ability to identify possible issues in the documentation and to promptly take corrective actions;
· HSE risk management: hazard identification during work execution, occupational risk assessment and evaluation, related control measures including the hierarchy of controls, safety cases and safety critical elements (including Management of Change and SIMOPS);
· HSE work practices: knowledge of the main risks during operation activities, of safe working and environmental protection procedures and rules, of adequate Personal Protective Equipment (purpose, use and maintenance) and of the correct use of the Permit to Work system;
· Personnel management: ability to manage personnel under his/her responsibility, including training and coaching;
· Project quality activities: coordination of project quality activities through the definition and monitoring of the Project Quality Plan, Quality Control Plans and Project Quality Procedures, guaranteeing compliance with contractual requirements and the ISO 9001 standard;
· Personal qualities: safety leadership and exemplarity, rigour, anticipation and organisational skills, team spirit and good communication.
